Bircher Muesli

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but that doesn’t mean it needs to take a long time to prepare. My bircher muesli can be prepared in advance and can even be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. This recipe is a great alternative to your standard cereal or muesli and you will find that the energy from the fruit, manuka honey and muesli will keep you going all morning.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄2 cup muesli
  • 1⁄2 cup oats
  • 1⁄2 cup dried fruit
  • 1 tbsp Manuka honey
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp natural yoghurt
  • 1⁄4 cup milk
  • 1⁄4 cup buttermilk

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in an airtight container.
  2. Mix well making sure all dry ingredients are moist.
  3. Put a lid on the container and place in fridge overnight.
  4. When serving, pour a little milk over the top and enjoy.
