Home-Style Sausage Rolls

Thanks to my mum Marie for this recipe. I have loved these sausage rolls since I was a boy; they are super simple to make with the whole family (kids) able to help out. I like to enjoy them as a snack or part of a picnic hamper lunch.

  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 500 gram packet of frozen puff pastry
  • 500 grams of pork sausage mince
  • 2 cloves of garlic (grated)
  • 1 cup of onion (diced)
  • 1/4 cup parsley (chopped)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of ground pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 200C / 390F.
  2. Roll out thawed pastry until thin.
  3. Combine all the other ingredients, and mix well.
  4. Place mince mixture across the length of pastry.
  5. Roll pastry over to form a sausage roll.
  6. Slice pastry length ways separating sausage roll from pastry sheet.
  7. Cut into small or big rolls, place on a baking tray lined with baking paper or foil.
  8. Bake in oven for 15 minutes or  until golden brown and cooked through.
