What Makes Katsudon Famous?
People love to try the cuisines of other cultures that are a bit different from what they would usually eat. Lately, I’ve been addicted to Japanese foods I love cooking Japanese dishes like Katsudon. This very simple to make Japanese dish has become one of our favourites and is a regular on the menu in our household.

Katsudon is best described as a deep-fried pork cutlet that is placed on top of a big bowl of white rice. Moreover, the tender pork is carefully dipped in egg, coated with bread crumbs and then thoroughly deep-fried. To make it a lot easier to eat, it is typically cut into thin strips when served. To make it taste even more delicious, and is normally served with a broth which is made from green onions, soy sauce, sake and stock.
I personally like Katsudon being served with either a sauce or broth whenever I eat it for a more savoury taste. What’s good about this dish is that you can also get slight variations of it and it comes with various toppings; for instance, miso, soy sauce, demi-glace as well as Worcestershire sauce. Additionally, in a few places, you may find selections like chicken or beef instead of pork.
Truly, Katsudon is a great dish that is easy to prepare and cook, it is a less expensive dish for the family and cooking this dish when the kids get home from school couldn’t be simpler. Due to the fact that most people are food lovers these days, Katsudon although a Japanese dish is no longer new to many. In fact, it is a famous dish because it is loved by all.
